How can I participate in the Great Sponsorship Challenge (GSC)?
You must set up a page to participate. You can simply track your sponsorships or compete against other teams. A page is required for every participant, whether you are only tracking sponsorships or you become a team of one or a team with more than one team member.

You can compete in the GSC in three ways:
Go Solo: You can use this page to simply track your sponsorships or to set a goal for yourself and track your progress.
Head-To-Head Competition: If you want to compete one-on-one against a specific team (a team of an individual or of more than one team member), you can go head-to-head.
Group Competition: Group Competitions involve multiple teams competing against each other. For example, you can challenge all the youth groups in your city. Or, as an individual, you can challenge some friends from your alma mater. Churches, radio stations, Christian colleges - You name it, you can help many Compassion children at one time through a Group Competition.

Team members and team leaders entering their own source code, along with employees, contractors and affiliates of Compassion, can participate but are not eligible to win prizes in the competition.

How many competitions can I participate in?

How are points given if I'm a team member in different competitions?
You receive a point for every sponsor you recruit under your account. If you have more than one account, the point will be credited to the account the new sponsor signs up under.

How many teams can I be Team Leader of?
You can lead as many teams as you like as long as you set up each team under a unique email address and password.

When can I join the GSC and how long does it last?
You can join the GSC at any time. Your page is available indefinitely or until you delete it.

What if I want to leave a team?

Is there a prize for the team with the most sponsors? If so, what is the prize?
The page with the highest number of sponsorships at midnight on May 15, 2010, will be awarded a Compassion surprise gift box that includes more than a dozen Compassion branded items. Team members and team leaders entering their own source code, along with employees, contractors and affiliates of Compassion, can participate but are not eligible to win prizes in the competition.

How do I find other teams to compete against?
When you set up your page, Step 1, Account Details, displays a list of teams interested in competing. If you decide to move from Go Solo to a Head-to-Head or Group Competition, you can edit your page to find teams to challenge. Just click on the Account Settings link.

How do I recruit team members and let people know I'm participating the GSC?

Can I credit my sponsorships to an existing source code?
Yes, in Step 1, Account Details, simply enter your five or six digit source code in the "I have my own Compassion source code" box. Your page will then show results for sponsorships that have been credited to your source code from the past 10 years. Otherwise, a random source code will be assigned to your page.

Anyone participating in the Great Sponsorship Challenge and using their own source code, will not be eligible to win prizes.

Can I show a specific child on my page until that child is sponsored?
No. Your page will display the photograph of a child who is randomly selected from the Compassion site. However, you can select a specific country and a child from that country will be randomly displayed on your page.

How do I put a widget on my blog or web site?
You can add a widget to your blog or web site in Step 3, Tell Others, or from the Home Page.

Do the scoreboards reflect real time scores?
Scores may not be real time and may take up to 30 days to process. However, Compassion will do its best to update the scoreboards as quickly as possible.
